- Lintel Length (mm)

Available to suit 50mm cavity widths
This single leaf lintel is used with timber frame construction. The L26 lintel must be used in conjunction with lateral restraint clips (supplied free of charge) and a tight fitting timber batten (not supplied), as shown to prevent lateral deflection (twisting).
To achieve loading figures shown the L26 must be secured using both timber batten and restraint clips which must be screw or nail fixed to the timber frame. Lateral restraint clips should start and end 300mm from the end of the lintel (see table below for number of clips to use and spacing between each one). It is recommended to use one continuous length of timber batten (full length of lintel) or 200mm long battens under each restraint clip.
Steel lintels should be installed with a minimum end bearing of 150mm, bedded on mortar and levelled along its length and across its width. The lintel should be suitably propped to facilitate speed of construction. All lintels should be installed with a damp proof course (DPC). See installation instructions in downloads for further information.
Standard lengths are manufactured in 150mm increments up to 3000mm and 250mm increments from 3000mm up to and including 4750mm.
